Paving the Way — Your Way

How much time do you think you spend on pavement each day? You have to count all the time you're driving — unless you're driving on dirt roads. You also have to count the time you spend walking across parking lots. Pavement is really important. That much is clear. Since pavement is so important, we thought we would start a blog to write a little more about pavement and pavement contractors. They deserve mention, too. They have a hard job and one that requires quite a lot of skill. We'll explain some of the skill behind pavement work on this blog, and we'll also dive into other related topics.

Custom Backyard Pool Installation Design Ideas: From Paving To Retaining Walls

A custom backyard pool can be one of the most impressive home improvements that you commission. There are many options that a homeowner can choose from in order to improve the backyard aesthetics of their property. Once you have selected the inground pool, the next step is to decide on the other design elements for the surrounding space. What follows is a brief review of some of the more important areas to consider when dealing with your contractor.

A Custom Retaining Wall For Behind The Pool

If your property has a slope on it, then you will need to have a retaining wall installed. These are designed to prevent the soil from eroding. When the ground is excavated for the pool, there is oftentimes a huge amount of soil that needs to be dealt with. One of the ways to handle this is to have a contractor install a custom retaining wall.

These retaining walls can be installed using beautiful and durable pavers. These pavers come in a variety of different design options. You can choose small pavers or large pavers. The pavers can also come in a variety of colors and shapes. This will allow the homeowner to create a distinctive look. You can then have a flower bed or other design element incorporated into the retaining wall.

A Poolside Fire Pit

One of the most impressive additions to a backyard pool area is a firepit. You should consult with the paving contractors and discuss how to have the firepit designed. There are multiple design options to choose from including circular or square firepits. The pavers that are used should be heatproof so that they can stand up to the fire inside of the firebox. Finally, it's important to discuss with the contractor if you are going to have an enclosed fire pit or an open design.

Custom Pool Pavers For The Pool Deck

The final step when designing an outdoor pool space is to select the pavers. Custom pool pavers are a great alternative to using poured concrete. The pavers can be chosen in a variety of sizes and colors. This is perfect for people who are looking to design a very specific look for their outdoor space. The custom pool pavers that you choose for your backyard space will allow you to tie in the design of the pool space with the firepit and also the retaining wall.
